Free SO2 Test Kit #SO2K

Free SO2 Test Kit, Chemetrics. 10 to 100 ppm range. This is a ‘Ripper’ test in which the sulfite is titrated with an iodide-iodate titrant in acid solution using a starch indicator. The advantages of this test are rapidity, simplicity and stability of the reagents. The accuracy of this kit is 2-10 ppm, which is normal for the Ripper Method. The reagents are stored under vacuum and do not need standardization. Testing SO2 in red wines is more difficult because of color interference, but can be done if you use a bright light. Each kit contains 10 tests. The Titrettor is designed to make the test easier to use, although our experience is that it does not work consistently, and is not needed.
