PIWC Deluxe Beginner Winemaking Kit w/Glass Carboy

Description

A perfect starter kit for the new winemaker and a terrific gift!

This kit is designed by Presque Isle Wine Cellars to include all of the equipment items you will need to jump into winemaking and create a batch of your chosen wine. Just add your favorite concentrate or fresh juice sold separately! We are believers in using fresh juice and recommend you do so if it is available. We offer fresh Locally grown juices during our fall harvest as well as offering convenient 6-Gallon juice pails of Chilean, California, and Italian juice at various times throughout the year.

With our PIWC Winemaking Kit you can create your wine at an economical cost per bottle and we choose our kit components to give you a combination of great quality and value. Since the equipment is reusable and durable, future per bottle costs will be even lower.

There are some cheaper kits out there that use plastic carboys. We only use glass carboys in our kits because over time plastic can allow oxygen transfer, hold and impart some odors, and break down and scratch. Glass carboys are airtight, easy to clean and sanitize, do not scratch or break down over time, and do not hold odors that could adversely affect the taste of your wine.

Kit contains:

  • Glass Carboy (Select From 3 Sizes)

  • PIWC Bottling Siphon

  • Potassium Metabisulfite

  • 3-Piece Senior Air Lock

  • Plastic Hydrometer Jar

  • PIWC Beginner's Book of Winemaking

  • Triple Scale Hydrometer (0-30 brix, potential alcohol and specific gravity)

  • Wine Yeast (5g pkt)

  • 35 Corks

  • Hand Corker

  • Deluxe Auto Siphon with Tubing

  • Carboy Brush

  • Bottle Brush

  • Bottle Filler

  • Small Neck Funnel

  • B-Brite Cleaner 8 oz

  • Plastic Mixing Paddle

A couple of things to remember:

An additional container will be needed when it is time to rack your wine. A food-grade 6 gallon plastic container is adequate, but many prefer, and we recommend, a second glass carboy.

The kit doesn't include bottles so you will need them when the time comes to bottle your creation. Bottles can be purchased separately from us or you can save and re-use ones you have drunk as an economical and sustainable alternative.
