Our award winning semi-dry red blend honors Freeport, a 1700’s lumber and fishing port that was one of the first settlements in our area.   This medium-bodied, easy-drinking beauty won top awards competing against the world at the prestigious 2025 Monterey International Wine Competition.  See what competition Director Rich Cook had to say:

“A blend of Chambourcin, Cabernet Franc and Dornfelder, it may be outside what you usually encounter, but it’s something that you should track down to taste if you’re able. It’s a lighter style red wine, with strawberry and cherry fruit that’s taut and tart, with a long finish that makes for a perfect summer sip – don’t be afraid to chill this a little before serving.”   94 Points.

Bridging the gap between sweet and dry, this versatile wine will please any palate and is a great everyday dinner wine.

This vintage is bottled under our new Freeport Art Label Series inspired by the real history of Lake Erie rum running and the story of our fanciful label heroine, Freeport Annie, Queen of the Lake Erie rum runners. The labels take advantage of the rich graphic visual opportunity presented by references to lake waves, art deco wallpaper patterns from the 20’s, sleek and polished wood Dart Boat images, elegant 1920’s women and those incomparable hats and dresses, moonlight, barrels and glasses of wine and liquor, and speakeasies.
