Aromas resembling black currant. Sweet fruitiness and low tannins. Aging brings out a spicy and smoky flavor. Its flavors are reminiscent of sweet red berries, plums, tomatoes, cherries and occasionally have a notable earthy or woody flavor- depending on growing conditions.
