The Native Sons

The wines in our Native Sons package are favorites and local classics made from our famous native Vitis Labrusca grapes very familiar to lovers of Welch's grape juices.

6-Bottle Package - Includes 2 bottles of Blushing Heron, 2 bottles of Creekside Niagara, 1 bottle of Creekside Concord, and 1 bottle of Pink Catawba

Blushing Heron. This Concord-Niagara blend is a customer favorite here at Presque Isle Wine Cellars and it seems a favorite of competition judges as well. Our sweet, grapey fusion offers a perfect marriage of classic white and red Vitis labrusca flavors and aromas. We ferment local grapes for a light color and body that suits any wine-drinking occasion.

Creekside Niagara. This well-decorated varietal Vitis labrusca wine expresses the strong aroma and flavor of white grape juice. Pour a glass to release this sweet white’s grapey and light citrus notes. Our lusciously fragrant Niagara stands well on its own or works as a nice spritzer base.

Creekside Concord. Aromas reminiscent of walking through one of our local vineyards on a warm August day are released from every bottle of our Creekside Concord. This grape variety is the prototypical example of the Vitis labrusca species, offering strong characteristics of fresh grape tastes. This sweet, jammy red will remind you of Welch’s sweet grape juices and jellies.

Pink Catawba. This special edition Catawba is dedicated to the fight against Breast Cancer and is part of our WINE4GOOD program.  This sweet, medium-bodied blush exudes the fruity characteristics of this classic Vitis labrusca varietal. Aromas of spicy grapes accompany a pleasant tanginess for a clean, bright finish. Chill to enjoy on a warm Saturday afternoon or serve to complement roasted chicken or duck with fresh vegetables.  PIWC will donate a portion of the proceeds from the sales of each bottle to help fund vital research and education in the fight against Breast Cancer.  92 Points and Gold medal winner at the International Women's Wine Competition in Sonoma, CA.
