Produced by Vineyard & Winery Management magazine, the International Women’s Wine Competition is the only competition judged by and for women wine drinkers. Most wine in the United States is purchased by women, and this competition seeks to identify wines that women like and will purchase.

 

The judging panel is made up entirely of professional women in the wine industry including winemakers, journalists, retailers and educators. 

 

Judges award Gold and Double Gold medals, Silver, and Bronze medals. Double Gold medals are reserved for wines that receive a unanimous gold on the first round of tasting. In addition to medals, wines compete for Best in Class and Best of Show in the categories of Red, White, Rosé, Dessert, Sparkling and Fruit wines.

In 2023, Presque Isle Wine Cellars earned the following medals in the International Women's Wine Competition:

2022 Ancestrale Pet Nat - Gold Medal and 90 Points      the original - Gold Medal and 90 Points
2022 Riesling - Silver Medal     2020 Blaufrankisch - Silver Medal
