Our award winning semi-dry red blend honors Freeport, a 1700’s lumber and fishing port that was one of the first settlements in our area. This medium-bodied, easy-drinking beauty offers a refreshing hint of sweetness with aromas of fresh berries swirling around the harmonious blend of Dornfelder, Chambourcin and Chancellor.
Bridging the gap between sweet and dry, this versatile wine will please any palate and is a great everyday dinner wine.
This vintage is bottled under our new Freeport Art Label Series inspired by the real history of Lake Erie rum running and the story of our fanciful label heroine, Freeport Annie, Queen of the Lake Erie rum runners. The labels take advantage of the rich graphic visual opportunity presented by references to lake waves, art deco wallpaper patterns from the 20’s, sleek and polished wood Dart Boat images, elegant 1920’s women and those incomparable hats and dresses, moonlight, barrels and glasses of wine and liquor, and speakeasies.
