Capsules provide an attractive tamper-evident finish to a bottle. They do not provide a barrier to air or keep mold from growing on the cork and can not be used as a bottle closure.
The capsules require a heat source of 350-400 degrees F such as a heat tunnel (SHT), bench model capsuler (HT), a paint stripping gun or immersion in boiling water will work as well. The best method is a heat tunnel which will shrink them smoothly around the neck of the bottles.
The capsules will fit on screw cap bottles and some cork finish bottles that were closed with the bar top (CWT or TTOP) closures.
All of our ‘screw cap’ finish capsules are 31mm in diameter with a length of 55mm.
